As a Christmas gift for my boyfriend I decided to get us tickets to the museum of ice cream. Obviously, this was more of a gift for myself than for him and just a ploy to get him to go … Continue reading

“What I Wore” Miami Swim Week Edition

Another year, another successful swim week! As a fashion blogger living in Miami, swim week is always a time I truly look forward to. Even though it can be an exhausting week, its always so nice to attend events and see fellow bloggers you possibly haven’t seen since the previous year. Some of the highlights from this year were that most of the shows were in walking distance from one another. Even if you did have some time between shows there were plenty of places to hang out until the next show such as the super cool Glamour lounge at the Funkshion tent this year.

To kickoff swim week, I attended the Sports Illustrated opening party and selected this tropical floral printed maxi dress from H&M which I figured was perfect for the occasion. I paired it with some summer espadrilles and a fun orange lip for that pop of color.

My next look was a more casual one since my day started in the afternoon attending events during the day and into the night. I chose this Tory Burch shift dress in one of my favorite Garden Party prints and some nude colored gladiator sandals from Aldo.

For a fun filled Saturday evening of shows followed by a Luli Fama, Cuba inspired afterparty, I pulled out all the stops. I have been saving this striped Tory Burch wrap dress for a special occasion and felt this was finally it. I added these wrap up suede sandals from Target (yes! Target!) and this adorable wicker clutch also from Tory, finished off with a simple crown braid that made this look classy and chic.

For my final Sunday look, I went with this adorable gingham off the shoulder dress, this look got me probably the most likes I’ve ever received on Instagram; which is crazy because I purchased this piece from non other than Marshall’s! Can you believe it!? I paired it with similar accessories from the day before and was done up with hair and makeup by Priv. This braided do was one of my favorites from the entire week and I added some light framed sunnies from GAP to finish the day look off.

Always such a fun time! Until next year Miami Swim Week!

Bring on the Birthday’s!

You’re only as old as you feel, right? So this year, I turned 25 for the fourth time and I think I’ll just keep it going for at least five more years. Im pretty confident I can pull it off. As much as I hate to admit it, I can feel 30 creeping up on me at an accelerated rate and I just want to stop time. If only that was my super power! Anyone know any fountains of youth in the area?

Whelp I guess if you can’t stop it, you have to embrace it! I get the whole experience comes  with age and blah blah blah, but why couldn’t I just be 18 and know what I know now? I mean how easy would that have made my life!? Anyways, Ive decided that 25 ( ahemmmm 29) is gonna be the best year yet!  I have a good hold on my goals and how I can move to make them a reality. With a constant positive outlook and sense of determination, I say bring on the birthday’s I can only go up from here.

To commemorate this, my twenty ninth year, I grabbed some confetti (of course) and balloons and shot this end of summer look. Wearing basically head to toe Kit and Ace, this white kimono and romper are both made of our stretch silk material, which is so light and perfect to get through the last of these hot summer days. I added a fun pastel colored silk neck scarf and my go-to nude nine west lace up sandals. Happy Birthday to me!

Coachella-ella-ella!

Yes…I know this post has been WAY overdue! So sorry guys, trying to find a balance between work, blogging, and life, is still an opportunity. But, I had THE. MOST. AMAZING. time at Coachella just a few weeks ago. Can I just go back right now?! I mean picture it, a carnival in the desert, with tons of musical idols, at all times for three whole days…clearly I was in my happy place. Trying to narrow down what my favorite shows were is a task in itself but I think if I had to, it would be Mike Snow, Purity Ring and Disclosure. So, incredible!

We all know its not about what you did at Coachella, its about what you wore to Coachella! Duh! It takes months to put together just the right looks for those three days. I wanted to incorporate so many different pieces and styles that it required some serious planning, shopping, and exchanging. LOL but I was super content with my three outfits, they were all different but very “Coachella.”‘

Check it out!

Conceal and Reveal…

For today’s post, I paired this effortless Conceal and Reveal dress with a varsity style blazer bomber and kick back original Adidas. Immediately when I saw this dress,  I knew I had to feature it, it is so versatile that I became obsessed. Not only can you do a casual  look but you can dress it up with booties or pumps and a killer statement necklace. Of course, the dress and bomber (which is actually a men’s piece, shhhhh) is from Kit and Ace, my newest fashion fixation and just so happens to be my most recent workplace. Whelp, they do say the best way to sell a piece is to wear it, so I guess Im helping out my brand and my closet at the same time. I’d say its a win, win. Hope you guys like it!

Also, side note…how ah-mazing is my photographer? Follow him on IG @legendaryalex ! You wont regret it!

Stepping into Spring!

I know its been a whileeeeeee, but Im back! It has been several months since my last post, but as a new Junior Shop Director of Kit and Ace Coconut Grove, Ive been a bit busy. No fear, it is a large part of my intentions for this year to post more consistently so as to not lose my loyal followers. Thank you for sticking with me!

Without further adieu, Im stepping into spring with today’s post. Of course I had to feature a piece from my brand so I pulled this “short but sweet crop” in the perfect spring color named Camelia. Since Kit and Ace interlaces cashmere in their fabrics, this top makes transitioning into spring comfortable and effortless. I paired it with distressed white boyfriend jeans and my newest ankle strap espadrilles. These were such a catch! They are from the Dolce Vita collection for Target which basically made them a steal!

Hope you guys enjoy this look, feels so good to be back in the swing of things.

Wedding Season Attire Under $100

For me, wedding season has officially come to an end. This season I was invited to attend three different weddings. Obviously I could not decline any invitations because duh! Weddings are my favorite! As an honored guest, I wanted to look incredible for all three events but wedding gowns can get pretty pricey. For me, the key to finding that perfect dress without breaking the bank was time and patience. You CAN find a drop dead gorgeous gown without spending a bundle, but you must search for it. That is exactly what I did! No worries, I will reveal the locations of my shopping secrets to my loyal followers, of course. These three looks were achieved in under $100 dollars each, including accessories! I know, Im pretty darn good. You can be just as good! Check out where I found these bargains in the outfit details! Enjoy and happy wedding season!

Street Chic!

Today’s fashion post features a more casual look. Staying casual does not mean you have to look like a wreck, remember you never know who you’re going to bump into. I like to make it a point to always look presentable, unless Im heading to the gym, then you get a free pass, of course. This look is simple and comfy and still trendy and chic. I paired this adorable leopard fringe crop (currently obsessed with fringe right now) with distressed white boyfriend jeans and a pair of black and gold gladiator sandals. I added a pop of color with my newest MAC lipstick “flat out fabulous” quite appropriate, I think. This ootd is perfect to run errands, grab dinner, or shopping. You can quick change this outfit to become a night time look by just adding some pumps and a clutch. Cheers and happy Thursday, we have almost made it to the weekend!

Outfit Details: Sunnies: Tory Burch, Necklace: Charming Charlie’s, Top: H&M, Boyfriend Jeans: Old Navy, Sandals: Steve Madden. Purse: Phillip Lim for Target

Pops of Pink!

Today’s style post is a classic spring look. I paired white distressed boyfriend jeans with a chambray top. The OOTD needed a bit of glam so I added a statement necklace and a pop of pink lipstick. I also dressed it up a bit with a pair of blush colored ankle strap pumps, but this can easily be paired with flats or sandals. I would probably go for gold. This ensemble is a perfect example of how accessories and details such as a bright colored lip can make all the difference. I know you’re dying to know the exact lip color I’m wearing so check out the outfit details! Happy Trend Tuesday!

Outfit Details: Chambray Top: Old Navy, Boyfriend Jeans: Old Navy, Pumps: DSW, Necklace: Charming Charlie, Bucket Bag: Old Navy, Lipstick: MAC (Candy Yum-Yum)

Killin It!

When it comes to my personal style I like to stay on trend but I love to mix it up with looks that I wouldn’t usually pick out. Its always fun to try new things and change up your style. This look was inspired by one of my favorite shows’ of all time, Sons Of Anarchy. In the show Gemma and Wendy are wives or “old lady’s” of several member’s of the motorcycle crew and although they’re usually always in something leather clad or black, they always look bad ass. So I decided to give it a try and I found that I can pull it off pretty well. Not to toot my own horn but “toot toot.” Hope you all like this edgy OOTD as much as I liked wearing it!

Outfit Details: Jacket: Old Navy, Tank Top: Generation Boutique, Beanie: Cotton On, Necklace: Forever 21, Leatherette Pants: Cotton On, Booties: Cotton On
